24 Feb SENTENCE AGAINST AN EVIL WORK
We live in a very evil world and the Scripture declares that the whole world lieth in wickedness (1 John 5:19), it is referred to as, ‘this present evil world’ (Galatian 1:4). However our Lord Jesus Christ told us already that, ‘And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold’ (Mathew 24:12), the killings, kidnappings, ritual killings, armed robberies, rapes, assassinations, divorces ,same sex marriages, abortions, looting of public funds and nepotisms in the world today is a sure testimony that iniquity indeed abounds and that the love of many have waxed cold.
The Bible says that ,And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually (Genesis 6:5) and as a result of this wickedness it is written, And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth(Genesis 6:7a) and God spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eight person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly (2 Peter 2:5) whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water and perished( 2 Peter 2:6). God saved only Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark (Genesis 8:1) Though the wickedness of man in the old world was great but this present evil world lieth in wickedness.
This is a generation that
Curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother
Are pure in their own eyes, and yet not washed in their filthiness
Lofty in their eyes and their eyelids are lifted up
Whose teeth are as swords, their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men (Proverbs 30:11-14)
In this present evil world, the ungodly justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him (Isaiah 5:23) forgetting that God Almighty is the Judge of all the earth (Genesis 19:25c) and will not justify the wicked (Exodus 23:7b), neither will He forsake the righteous (Psalm 37:28) or acquit the wicked (Nahum 1:3). However iniquity continue to abound for it is written, ‘Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil’ (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
If you are still living in sin and doing evil deeds I want to remind you that it is the mercy and grace of God that is keeping you alive and not your wickedness because God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked for it is written, Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: (Ezekiel 33:11a) The fact that you are alive today and reading this message is for the purpose of repentance, ‘The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance’(2 Peter 3:9)
The old testament tells us clearly that ,Naked came I out of my mother’s womb ,and naked shall I return thither(Job 3:21a) and the new testament confirms and certifies it with this very words, ‘For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out’(1 Timothy 6:7).
Therefore, Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us ? (Isaiah 29:15) God knows you and He knows your works for neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do (Hebrews 4:13)
Do not continue in your evil ways by despising the riches of God’s goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, for the goodness of God should lead you to repentance (Romans 2:4).
The word of God is coming to you today that, Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and He will have mercy upon him, and unto our God, for He will abundantly pardon (Isaiah 55:7). The reason is that God will have all men to be saved ,and to come to knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4) but the choice is entirely yours, For God so loved the world ,that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish ,but have everlasting life ( John 3:16)
Do not delay but repent from your sins and come to Jesus today for tomorrow may be too late .In 2 Corinthians 6:2 it is written (For he saith, I have heard thee in an a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) But what saith? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:8-10)
Though sentence against an evil walk is not executed speedily yet be not deceived, God is not mocked ,for whatsoever a man soweth, that he shall also reap (Galatians 6:7). Therefore if you sow the wind, you shall reap the whirlwind(Hosea 8:7a)
Though sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily yet in God’s judgment there is no appeal, and whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15) for the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23 a) and the soul that sinneth ,it shall die(Ezekiel 20:1)
Why not accept now the gift of God which is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord?
