PLAN WITH PRAYER, WALK IN HIS WILL

PLAN WITH PRAYER, WALK IN HIS WILL

Life is a great privilege and blessing from God Almighty. Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit (Job 10:12). Therefore, boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth (Proverbs 27:1).

Remember also: man proposes, but God disposes. Consider the words of Scripture that warn against confident planning: You who say, ‘We will go into such-and-such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain’ — how do you know what shall be tomorrow? For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. Instead, you ought to say, ‘If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this or that.’ (James 4:13–15).

That sober truth humbles our pride. It is all too easy to lay plans with confident self-reliance, but Scripture calls us to depend on God’s will. If a person knows the right thing to do and yet fails to do it, that failure is a real sin (James 4:17). Let us therefore plan with wise foresight, speak with humility, and act in obedience to the LORD.

My prayer for you is this: May you never be found at the wrong place at the wrong time, nor at the right place at the wrong time. Rather, may you always be at the right place at the right time, doing the right things, in the right way, and in the right season. May you walk in the LORD’S favor and timing all the days of your life, In Jesus name. Amen.
