01 Jul HEAR HIM, AND WALK WITH THE WISE
Our Lord Jesus Christ told His disciples; Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you (John 15:15). Some people only know Him as Jesus, But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, “Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God” (1 Corinthians 1:24
His impact on the lives of His disciples was both notable and unmistakable: Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus (Acts 4:13). For He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed (Proverbs 13:20).
Though He is separate from sinners—For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners” (Hebrews 7:26)—He is also the friend of sinners: They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance (Matthew 9:12–13).
Concerning Him, God the Father declared: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him (Matthew 17:5). He is the Son of man who came to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). Yes, hear Him; for Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend (Proverbs 27:17).
