FAVOURED BY GOD (SUBTITLE 2) TO LOVE MERCY

A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn (Proverbs 12:2).
Here we see the contrast between the good and wicked and the Scripture gives us a short but concise and clear characteristic of a goodman for it is written He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? (Micah 6:7).
The wicked man does not love mercy and neither does he exercise mercy according to the true meaning of the word. He is sadistic for the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel (Proverbs 12:10b) but righteous man, a good man, a merciful regard the life of his beast (Proverbs 10:12a).
When a person loves mercy then he does the following
✓ MERCY:
• M- Minister’s to other
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister (Hebrews 6:10).
He does good to all men as opportunity offers, especially to those who belong to the Christian household (Galatians 6:10) for He is ever merciful, and lendeth (Psalm 37:26) but give freely to the poor.
• E – Eschew Evil
Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it (1 Peter 3:11).
He is not overcome of evil but rather overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21) and He is kind to the others, tenderhearted, forgiving any one that offends him even as God for Christ’s sake have forgiven him (Ephesians 4:32).
• E -Eyes
I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame (Job 29:15).
He helps the helpless and physically handicapped for a good man remains a good man and does good deeds.
• R- Righteous
He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour (Proverbs 21:21).
He follows after righteousness and mercy and finds (Jeremiah 29:13) Jesus Christ the Life (John 14:6) and becomes the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21) and gets honour (Proverbs 8:18) through Jesus Christ the Wisdom from Above (James 3:17)
• C – Comfort
Wherefore comfort one another with these words (1 Thessalonians 4:18).
He comforts others through the word of God and the works of mercy by feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, providing shelter to the stranger, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and the prisoner (Mathew 25:34-36).
• Y -Yoke of Christ
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls (Mathew 11:29).
He has accepted the sweetest invitation in life and all its blessings and benefits and automatically he follows the examples and steps of Christ (1 Peter 2:21) and rejoices always as he does the same works of mercy and compassion.
