13 Oct PERFECTION IS THE GOAL
Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God (Deuteronomy 18:13)
Child of God perfection is the goal (Hebrews 6:1a) for as it is written, Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Mathew 5:48).Perfection is very important and God told Abraham His friend (Isaiah 41:8), the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect (Genesis 17:1). Beloved do not be like Amaziah king of Judah who did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart (2 Chronicles 25:2). This means that while Amaziah followed God’s commands outwardly and did what was right in God’s eyes, his inner motivation and commitment were not wholehearted or complete. The term “perfect heart” here translates from the Hebrew word “shalem,” which means whole, complete, or blameless. Never forget for a moment what is written, I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings (Jeremiah 17:10). Do you have an undivided loyalty and wholehearted devotion to God, beyond just outward conformity. Beloved you have to move beyond surface-level righteousness to genuine, complete commitment and love for God with all the heart, reflecting an undivided and pure inward intention behind your action. Therefore, Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in His statutes, and to keep His commandments, as at this day (1 Kings 8:61). Live a lifestyle of obedience and careful adherence to God’s teachings, in all aspects of life aligned with God’s commandment.
MEDITATION:
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day (Proverbs 4:18).
