THE LORD IS GOOD TO ALL

The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The LORD is good to all: and His tender mercies are over all His works (Psalm 145:8-9)

✓ The Goodness of the LORD

Naturally and ordinarily man’s goodness and kindness is fickle, unreliable and subject to his whims and caprices. David the sweet psalmist and prophetic king of Israel understood and practice the kindness of God for as it is written And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet (1 Samuel 9:2).

God is not only good but also faithful but concerning the unregenerate man it is written that Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? (Proverbs 20:6).

✓ God’s Goodness to All

• Salvation

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16)

“whosoever” means anyone and everyone

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men (Titus 2:11).

This does not give way for selectivity or favoritism for as it is written For there is no respect of persons with God (Romans 2:11).

• Provision

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust (Mathew 5:45).

God provides His sun and rain to the evil and good, to the just and unjust, yes He gives His air to both the wicked and the righteous for He is good to all.

• Wisdom

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him (James 1:5).

The wisdom to fear God, the wisdom to be born again if you are not yet born again. The wisdom to know that eternity is far more important than now and that your decision today determine your destiny, the wisdom to know that though the soul is more important than the body but you should also take care of your body by living a healthy life through eating right, exercising and sleeping well.

✓Doing The Work of God

(1) As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith (Galatians 6:10)

Remember

• Christ: How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (Acts 10:38)

•Centurion: For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue (Luke 7:5)

•Cornelus: And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God (Acts 10:4).

How long have you given alms to the poor?

(2) Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin (Galatians 4:17)

If you have the means and opportunity, do you give food to the hungry? Do you give water to the thirsty? Have you offered hospitality to a stranger? when last did you cloth the naked or visit the hospital or prison?

(3) Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Mathew 5:48)
