13 Feb THE FOUR REASONS FOR THE LAW (ENTIRE SCRIPTURES) OF GOD : NUMBER 3
TO FEAR THE LORD (NUMBER 3)
When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which He shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing. Gather the people together, men and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law (Deuteronomy 31: 11-12).
- The Fear of the LORD
It is written that the fear of the LORD is wisdom (Job 28:28a) but fools die for want of wisdom (Proverbs 10:21) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good (Psalm 14:1) and when a fool damns the consequence the consequence will damn him.
- The Word of God
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name Psalm 138:2)
The world is changing daily but God word is unchanging, He cannot lower His standard for anyone or for any reasons. His word is final and it is written Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you (Deuteronomy 4:2)
- No Addition
Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him. Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar (Proverbs 30:5-6)
- The Damnable Consequences of Addition and Subtraction
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book (Revelation 22:18-19)
- Fear the LORD
The third reason for the Scriptures is to fear the LORD for our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29) and because of this you have to fear Him for It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:31) and in His judgement there no appeal for as it is written and as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Therefore fear not them which kill the body but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (Mathew 10:28).
