THE ACTS OF THE SPIRITUAL CHRISTIAN (THANKSGIVING).

THE ACTS OF THE SPIRITUAL CHRISTIAN (THANKSGIVING).

Heavenly Father I pray that you advance every one reading this message and also their loved ones just as you advanced Moses and Aaron (1 Samuel 12:6) so that they will journey unto new elevation successfully and smoothly in this month of June in Jesus name Amen.
✓ THANKSGIVING
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
Everything means everything and the Preacher ,the son of David, King in Jerusalem by the inspiration of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17) says that In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after Him (Ecclesiastes 7:14) and Paul the Apostle says Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me (Philippians 4:11-13).
Like the spiritual Christian you don’t have any reason to complain, murmur or fret in whatever unfavourable situation you find yourself because in this life there is not only need for grace but there is always grace for every need for as it written that ,And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong (2 Corinthians 12:7-10).
The mixed multitudes (Exodus 12:38) among the hosts of the LORD (Exodus 12:41), the carnal and babe Christians will question and ask, “God why me?” but Job never questioned God but rather worshipped God and blessed the name of the LORD (Job 1:20-21).
✓ The Importance of Thanksgiving
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6).
I do not have a car but I thank God always for giving me legs to walk and to be able to enter every mode of transportation for as I see cripples who are on wheelchairs and there are people I know or have read of who had “heaven on wheels” cars and even private jet but they are now dead. In Lagos state Nigeria where I am presently residing, I am living in a rented apartment but I thank God daily for providing me with the money to pay my rent as of when due all these years because some people are living under the bridge and some are sleeping outside without any shelter. The fact that you are reading this very timely message shows that you have every reason to thank God for it is written Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit (Job 10:12). You are reading this message because you are alive and it is written that
For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.
For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun (Ecclesiastes 9:4-6).
For as the old saying goes, “When there is life there is hope”.
The spiritual Christian thanks God for the gift of salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9) for God transforming a sinner to a saint is the greatest miracle.
I pray for any one reading this message and is not yet saved:
Heavenly Father Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of Thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die (Psalm79:11) thank you Father for sending the prisoners out of the pit wherein there is no water by the blood of the covenant (Zechariah 9:11) in Jesus name Amen.
There is hymn by Johnson Oatman, Jr (1987) titled, “Count your Blessings” Count your many blessings, name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done. I will appreciate it if you can read the whole stanza and make a list daily of what God has done for you, Do you daily count your many blessings? Then why not give God thanks.
There is another popular song I love “Thank you Jesus, thank you my Lord, whatever I am now it is by your grace, many are dying, many are perishing but whatever I am now it is by your grace”.
Always be thankful to God for everything you receive for as it is written that John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven (John 3:27).
✓The Sign of the Last Day
The Scripture tells us plainly and clearly that in the last days perilous time shall come and one of the signs is that men shall be “unthankful” (2 Timothy 3:1-2).
Many people are unthankful. However learn to be always be thankful to everyone whom God has used in the past and is using presently and will use in future to help and bless you. Learn to appreciate what they did by saying a sincere thank you to each and every one of them.
