THE ACTS OF THE SPIRITUAL CHRISTIAN (SUPPLICATION)

THE ACTS OF THE SPIRITUAL CHRISTIAN (SUPPLICATION)

Let the words of your mouth, and the meditation of your heart, be acceptable in the sight of the LORD God, our Strength, and our Redeemer in Jesus name Amen

SUPPLICATION

If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty; If thou wert pure and upright; surely now He would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous (Job 8:5-6)

Definition of Supplication

The Oxford languages define supplication as “the action of asking or begging for something earnestly and humbly”.

Whereas prayer is defined as “sincere thanksgiving or request made to God, supplication is a form of prayer which someone makes a humble petition or entreaty to God”.

Supplication In Prayer

In Prayer and supplication there is a request for it is written Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you (Mathew 7:7)

  • Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6)
  • These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren (Acts 1:14)
  • Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Ephesians 6:18)
  • Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee (2 Chronicles 6:39)

The Spiritual Christians ask, seek and knock for God has giving him understanding to know that prayer and supplication are inseparable. In prayer you ask and in supplication you seek and knock earnestly but in humility.

Jesus Christ

Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered; And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him (Hebrew 5:7-9).

Jesus Christ offered up prayers and supplications. It is written And He left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words (Mathew 26:44).

You need to pray daily with all prayer and supplication to God Almighty for as you offer supplication then God supplies your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus for in supplication there is supply and application. Yes for as you apply the supply to the need then it becomes a solution to that very situation.

Prayer Point

  • Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle (Psalm 28:2)
