PART 2 : DOING THE WORKS OF GOD TOPIC: FULL OF COMPASSION

PART 2 : DOING THE WORKS OF GOD TOPIC: FULL OF COMPASSION

The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The LORD is good to all: and His tender mercies are over all His works (Psalm 145:8-9)
Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in writing the part 2 of this message. I fully accept the responsibility and once again I am sorry. Today I am writing on the topic of compassion for until you can have sympathy and empathy for others you don’t have any element or trace of compassion in you. Concerning Jesus Christ, it is written But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd (Mathew 9:36).
COMPASSION
C – Care
Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you (1 Peter 5:7)
Jesus Christ cares for you and you must care for others for it is written that Let this mind be with you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5)
Jesus Christ not only fed the people with the Bread of Life, He also fed them with loafs of bread and fish to go with it., “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world (James 1:27). ‘Only they would that we should remember the poor’. When last did you visit an orphanage home or a widow? Have you given meat to the hungry? And water to the thirsty? Have you shown hospitality to a stranger? clothed the naked or visited the sick or those in prison? One writer said, “I was hungry and you formed a club to discuss it. I was in prison and you stayed in church to pray for me. I was naked and you debated the morality of my appearance. I was sick and you thanked God for your health. I was homeless and you told me about heaven’s streets of gold. You seem so holy, so close to God, but I’m still hungry, lonely, cold, and in pain. Does it matter? (See Mathew 25:35-43). Remember what the angel of God said to Cornelius, Thy prayers and alms are come for a memorial before God (Acts 10:1-4)
O- Obedient
And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:8)
Jesus Christ obediently and willingly died on the Cross for our sin because of His love for us. SIN is nothing more than S- Satan, I – I , M- Myself. Sin can and will never give you joy for its pleasures is but for a season (Hebrews 11:25) but Joy is J-Jesus, O -Others, O- Yourself. It is written that, And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself (Mathew 22:39) Check yourself, examine yourself Do you love your neighbor as yourself? It is written And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise (Luke 6:31) Until you love your neighbour as yourself and do unto others as you want others to do unto you then you do not have compassion.
M – Mediator
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time (1 Timothy 2:5-6)
The Scripture says that To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:19)
Are you saved? It is written that And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). Until you preach the gospel to the unsaved and lost then you have no right to talk about compassion.
P – Perfectness
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness (Colossians 3:14)
For Charity means compassion, help, alms, rewards, impact, thoughtful, yearn.
Therefore, it is written that Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Mathew 5:48) and therefore be full of compassion as God is full of compassion
A – Approved
For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom God commendeth (2 Corinthians 10:18)
When you have compassion on others then God commends you and commendation from Him means that you have been approved
S- Saviour
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:11)
As you celebrate the Christmas season each year don’t forget that the Scripture gives us the reason for the season for it is written that And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins (Mathew 1:21) So as you celebrate Christmas and your Christmas should be every day for it is written that This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24) .
The C in Christmas stands for Christ Crucified on the Cross and the R stands for Redemption, Resurrection and Return for indeed Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again. Yes, the C also stands for compassion so show compassion every day.
S – Service
For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth (Luke 22:27)
Some of you neglect to help others when the situation arises for your personal service but rather you either pass the other side or simply pass on. A certain priest and likewise a Levite are an example of this fact (Luke 10:30-32) However you need to have compassion on others liked the good Samaritan (Luke 10:33).
I – Intercession
Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them (Hebrews 7:25)
Concerning you and I it is written that I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men (1 Timothy 2:1) for God will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). Take note that without compassion you cannot make intercession for all men and all men includes the good and the bad, the saint and the sinner, the righteous and the wicked.
O – Open
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me (Acts 26:28)
This you do by preaching the good news (Gospel) to the people for it is written that Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12) Tell them of Jesus, lead them to Jesus
You can also physically help the blind for it is written that I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame (Job 29:15). However note that Jesus Christ makes the blind to see both spiritually and physically.
N – Now
(For He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) 2 Corinthians 6:2
It is written that Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee (Proverbs 3:28) for tomorrow might be too late. Therefore have compassion and practice it.
